Driven

Driven is an EdTech player offerings two main services: 1) easy-to-digest video classes through RespondeAi, the main study platform used by engineering students in Brazil, with 1.5 million students on the base (and growing) and 2) a four to six-month online course focused on forming junior full-stack developers aiming to join top-tier companies, such as iFood, Itau and OLX, among others. The company's ultimate goal is to tackle one of LATAM’s largest issues: the talent gap in the technology market.

Driven operates under an Income Share Agreement (ISA) model, allowing students to join the courses without needing to pay upfront and instead of sharing a percentage of their salaries once they are employed under certain conditions, including salary levels. By leveraging from more than 1.5M existing students on RespondeAi’s current base, Driven has unprecedented access to qualified leads, allowing them both to acquire students at a low cost and to select the best ones, as RespondeAi has a vast database for each existing student.

We believe the main challenge for this model is to scale the number of good applicants over time. As of now, more than 90% of the leads come from the existing platform (RespondeAi), giving Driven a competitive advantage over competitors. This allows Driven to position itself as a “premium” brand in the market, forming the best developers and generating a credible brand in the market. As a consequence, the company's client base, composed of large enterprises and tech companies, search more and more for Driven’s students and hence generating a strong flywheel.

Finally, despite a clear pain point in the market, there are no established players there yet. With a strong and experienced team, Driven is positioned to become a leading company in the market.
